To celebrate launching Web Envisions, I’m building a free website for one local business. Know a shop, café, trade, studio or nonprofit whose website doesn’t do them justice? Nominate them, or nominate yourself.

How it works
Nominate
Tell me about a Central Oregon business that deserves a better website. It takes about 2 minutes. Owners can nominate themselves.
I pick the winner
Nominations close November 22. I read every one and announce the winner on December 1.
Built in public
I build the site through December and January and share the progress here, then reveal it around January 20.
Everyone nominated gets something. Every confirmed business receives a free video review of its website, plus 15% off a new website signed by January 31, 2027.
Picture it first
Sketch a homepage in one sentence
Describe a local business and Claude drafts the words, picks a look and suggests one tool that would help. The page draws it on the spot. The real site gets designed with the owner, but this is where the conversation starts.
Nominate a business
Open to businesses and nonprofits in Bend, Redmond, Sisters, Sunriver, La Pine and the rest of Deschutes County. Nominating a business more than once won’t change its chances: I judge on the story, not the count.
Not the owner? That’s fine. I’ll contact the business to make sure they’d like to take part.
What the prize doesn’t include
- Your domain name, and hosting after the first year
- Extra pages, a blog, or an online store
- Logo or brand design
- Booking, payments, or other integrations
- Professional photography
- A monthly care plan (offered at a discount)

Questions
- Is it really free?
- Yes. The website is built at no cost and hosting is included for the first year. The winner pays only for their own domain name, and owns the finished site.
- How is the winner chosen?
- I read every confirmed nomination and choose on four things: how much a new site would help, what the business means to the people who nominated it, whether the owner can work with me through January, and fit with the Launch package. The rules have the details.
- Does sharing or nominating more help?
- No. Share the post if you’d like more businesses to hear about it, but it doesn’t count as an entry, and several nominations for one business don’t raise its chances.
- Do I have to leave a review if we win?
- No. I’ll invite honest feedback once the site is live, but a review is never a condition of winning.
